THE DICEMAN VARIATIONS
The first two tracks, originally released on cassette, were experimental pieces largely influenced by having read Luke Rheinhart's cult classic novel The Diceman.
The basic tracks for track 1 were recorded using a Cubase programme - and thus technically our first venture into digital recording - at Greenhouse Music, Sunderland, though we then had to transfer them back to cassette in order to work on them.

Track 2 was recorded using random elements on a four track cassette recorder.

Listener feedback for The Case Of The Six-Sided Man
> "Nice series of sonic vignettes"
> "Nice series of sonic vignettes"
Track 3 was created for some Mail Art project or other...the idea being to produce something [not necesserily aural] in one hour.
This track was recorded and mixed between 10 and 11 a.m., hence its title.
It kind of belongs here and was added when the original Diceman cassette was transfered to CD.

"Something not unlike Lt. Doolittle's "Ode To A Bell Jar" home-made organ music from the film Darkstar...and some nice touches that may or may not intentionally sound like early Tomita.
"The Case Of The Six-Sided Man" starts as a more off-the-wall musique concrete piece with processed vocal, bugle, sci-fi flying saucer control room...until a Crass-like drumbeat enters to avante-jazz things down."
CHAOTIC ORDER #17
